Description
This is a really stunning bulky, coiled art yarn, handspun from a blend of Corriedale wool and silky rose fibre viscose.
To create this yarn I spun up some hand dyed corriedale and rose fibre blend roving into a thick and thin singles yarn. I then plied this with a hand dyed alpaca, sock yarn to create a heavyweight coiled art yarn.
The colours are reminiscent of a moorland landscape, like that on Ilkley Moor just a few miles from my home.
This yarn is approx. 55g in weight and 3.75m in length – 2-3WPI so approx. heavy bulky weight overall.
(The ruler in the photos is an imperial measurement (inches) ruler.)
This yarn is lovely and soft and light and would be great incorporated into freeform knitting or in tapestry weaving projects.
Alternatively use your imagination – make a wall hanging, combine with some strings of beads to create a textile necklace – the possibilities are endless!
Cool handwash only unless aiming to felt.
