Description

I have named this the Cathedral Shade names after the ‘doorway view’ in the. The idea for this came with a rush of exitement when I realised what I was looking at, Im sure it’s only the first itteration but I couldnt resist finishing it and showing it off! As most of my recent shades I am again using thin ash strips and my imagination and a sprinkling of headscratching. oh and some glue and some steel rod and nuts. This beautiful shaped shades Dimensions are 410mm high x 450mm at widest point. As with some other shades this shade can be hung up either way if required.

I’m Tom and I design and make things out of wood, mostly Ash combined with darker woods including sepele, walnut and on occasion mahogany to add a nice contrast.  I make lighting – table lamps, wall lamps and pendant shades, coffee tables and my newset addition of an old-fashioned but modern take on the 1960s/’70s ‘Radiogram‘
I tend to enjoy the design process which happens in my head as I’ve not got into 3D design software as yet…. Above all they are pleasing to the senses!
