Description
I love creating these ‘little people’ and there’s something really endearing about this one as the pup waits for the ball to be thrown.
(the ball launcher was originally a teeny tiny scoop for hen medicine)
Handmade by me, they’re created from a mixture of hand and machine sewing and they take days to create, they really are a labour of love.
Mounted on a piece of log from a sustainably managed woodland in Derbyshire.
Log approximately 14.5 x 10 cm.
Height approx 36cm.

The inspiration for my little people came about when my neighbour left some fence post wire out for the scrap man and I decided to see if I could use it to work 3 dimensionally. (Until that point I’d created pictures from old maps, vintage bus tickets, tax discs etc)
My work is a combination of hand and machine stitch and wherever possible I work on my 1930s sewing machine “Pearl” (she’s a singer)
