Description

Here is a Rearing Horse, lovingly Pyrographed onto Sycamore timber from West Wales. The wood has been planed, then shaped by hand before being sanded slowly through the grits, till it reached maximum smoothness and was the ideal surface for Pyrography.

Here’s a few words from Danny on her artwork:
This Horse artwork is the second Equestrian piece I have Pyrographed. I really enjoy the challenge of bringing animals to life with woodburning, getting the proportions accurate can be extremely tricky!
I hope this can bring joy to someones house, it was certainly a relief to finish it, haha!

The artwork has been finished with 5 coats of Danish Oil, gently rubbed with 0000 grade wire wool in between each application. It has a gorgeous look and feel, with a deep shine.
For maintenance and longevity, we recommend you hang the item out of direct sunlight, and reapply Bestwood Danish Oil in 6 months time, then every 12 months thereafter.

Like this but not sure it’s quite for you? Get in touch to commission us to make you a custom order!

Jai and Danny are partners in business, and life. We started our pyrography business in 2018 as a joint hobby and soon the business grew from there. Jai is a keen woodworker, and has spent far too many hours of his life sanding (making sure every piece is silky smooth). He has a passion for making bespoke and quirky items in the most eco-friendly way he can, with almost all of our wood collected locally and seasoned ourselves. Danny is a chaotic ball of adhd and anxiety, which can sometimes be channelled into creating beautiful art. Their art is heavily influenced by the Welsh wilderness, folklore and legends.
Danny is also a talented welsh folk musician and singer songwriter, you can find them on Facebook.
